Riverside Cultural Center

Active Project

A multi-purpose cultural facility that serves as a community hub for arts, education, and civic engagement.

Project Overview

The Riverside Cultural Center transforms a former industrial site into a vibrant community gathering place. The 75,000 square foot facility includes performance spaces, art galleries, classrooms, and a public library branch.

Adaptive Reuse Strategy

The design preserves the industrial character of the original brick warehouse while inserting modern program elements. Exposed steel beams and brick walls create a dramatic backdrop for cultural activities.

Performance Venues

A 500-seat theater with state-of-the-art acoustics hosts everything from symphony concerts to community theater productions. A flexible black box theater accommodates experimental performances and educational programs.

Community Spaces

The central atrium serves as an informal gathering space and exhibition area. Outdoor terraces overlooking the river provide additional venues for events and quiet contemplation.

Accessibility and Inclusion

Universal design principles ensure the facility is accessible to all community members. Programming spaces are designed to accommodate diverse cultural traditions and artistic practices.
